Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are set to take on Celtic in the Old-Firm derby on Saturday.

Rangers manager Pedro Caixinha is seen prior to the Betfred League Cup Quarter Final at Firhill Stadium on September 19, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

Glasgow Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha has told the Scotsman that he will take a message from the way Brendan Rodgers sets his Celtic side up on Saturday.

Rangers are due to face Celtic at Ibrox, and it is not yet clear what formation Rodgers will utilise in the fixture.

Celtic have played with a back three in many of their domestic fixtures, but reverted to a four-man defence when taking on PSG in the Champions League.

And Caixinha claims that if Rodgers switches system again, he will be able to tell how much he respects Rangers.

Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers looks on during the UEFA Champions League Group B match between Celtic and Paris Saint Germain at Celtic Park on September 12, 2017 in Glasgow, Scotland.

“They have two options; they go more or less the way they started against Paris Saint-Germain or they go like they do against the majority of the teams,” the Portuguese boss said.

“If they go against us like they go against PSG, I will take one message from that. If they go the other way I will take a different message – and I will keep both from you.”

Rodgers has still never lost a domestic game since taking charge at Celtic, despite tinkering with his team throughout the season.

Celtic dominated fixtures against Rangers last term, and they will be aiming to assert their superiority once again on Saturday.

If the Bhoys are able to beat Rangers at the weekend, then they will put an eight point gap between themselves at their Glasgow rivals at this early stage of the campaign.
