Barrie McKay came off the substitutes’ bench to impress for Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers in their most recent match.
Pedro Caixinha has told the Glasgow Evening Times that Barrie McKay is setting the standard for his Glasgow Rangers teammates to follow.
McKay was left on the substitutes’ bench against Partick, but made a brilliant impact after coming on.
With Rangers 1-0 down at Firhill, McKay helped turn the match in the Ibrox side’s favour.
The winger netted Rangers equaliser, before Joe Garner headed home a late winner in the contest.
And Caixinha was full of praise for McKay’s display after the match.
He said: “I am always pleased when guys bring their quality and commitment on to the pitch.
“I’m very happy with Barrie and all the guys who performed like Barrie.
“It is a question of standards and that is what we are looking for.”
McKay’s future at Rangers remains up in the air, with a move this summer seemingly possible.
The youngster has recently turned down a new deal at Ibrox, and has just over 12 months remaining on his current contract.
If McKay was to leave Rangers is would be a major blow to Caixinha’s side, as he has been one of their most exciting attacking players this season.
McKay will now surely start in Rangers’ next match, which comes against Hearts at the weekend.
