Graeme Murty was in caretaker charge of Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers before Pedro Caixinha took over.
New Glasgow Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha has told the club’s official website that he has been very impressed by Graeme Murty so far.
Murty was in caretaker charge of Rangers before Caixinha took charge, and the under-20 coach has been a big help to the Portuguese boss in his first few weeks at the helm at Ibrox.
“Graeme has been very, very helpful, not only being with us and having one more of us on the training pitch, leading the exercises and being a bridge with the under-20s and under-17s, but also with all the fitness and preventive work with the medical side of things that we need to do with specific players or as a group on a daily basis,” Caixinha said.
Murty has a mixed time in charge of Rangers’ first-team, during his time in interim charge.
Murty won three of the six matches that he was in charge of, before handing the reins over to Caixinha.
Caixinha’s first match in charge of Rangers could hardly have gone better, as they picked up a 4-0 win over Hamilton.
The Glasgow side were totally dominant, as they put in a very encouraging performance.
Rangers are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Motherwell.
The Light Blues are currently in third place in the Scottish Premiership table – eight points behind Aberdeen, who sit in second spot.
