Glasgow Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha appears to have some initial doubts over Emerson Hyndman.

Hyndman is widely regarded as one of the most talented players currently at Rangers, after a series of strong initial displays following his loan spell from Bournemouth.

The American only moved to Ibrox in January, but he scored four goals in his first 11 appearances and he has quickly become a fans’ favourite with the Glasgow club.

Hyndman has started in all three of the matches which Caixinha has taken charge of so far.

However, the 20-year-old has recently been taken off very early on in Rangers’ last two matches.

Hyndman was withdrawn at half-time during Rangers 0-0 draw with Kilmarnock, and then he was taken off at the 52nd minute mark last weekend, in Rangers’ match against Aberdeen.

Caixinha’s decision to substitute Hyndman was actually heavily criticised by Rangers fans at the time.

The Portuguese boss may feel vindicated though, as Rangers scored three late goals, with Hyndman off the field, to win 3-0 at Pittodrie.

Hyndman’s place in Rangers’ starting line-up is now surely under threat, with Caixinha seemingly having doubts about the midfielder.

The Light Blues are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Partick at Ibrox.
