Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are said to be lining up a move for Ryan Jack, with Pedro Caixinha a fan of the midfielder.
Glasgow Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha has told Daily Express that he wants Aberdeen’s Ryan Jack, and has offered a strong hint about his transfer targets this summer for the Ibrox side.
Jack’s performances for Aberdeen this season have impressed Caixinha and Rangers’ scouting team.
And the Portuguese boss has hinted that there are eight domestic based players who Rangers now have their eye on.
“Jack has not played for the last two matches – if I am not wrong – and maybe he won’t play against us on Wednesday,” Caixinha said.
“But because of his age, his quality and what he has done in the last two seasons, he is a player I like.
“There are maybe six or seven more like Jack that we assessed.
“He is a good player. Young and Scottish.
“I like his consistency, although he has missed a few games recently. I like his leadership as captain at a young age.
“I like the way he sees the game and gives the out ball in the build-up. He gives a balance to the team when it’s attacking.”
Aberdeen are likely to want to keep hold of Jack in the summer, but his contract situation is precarious, which gives Rangers some hope of attracting him to Ibrox.
Jack’s current deal is due to expire in the summer, meaning he could be available on a free transfer, unless the Dons are able to agree terms with him in the near future.
Jack has captained Aberdeen this season, with the Dons set to beat Rangers to second place in the Scottish Premiership table.
In total, Jack has made 37 appearances for Aberdeen across all competitions – scoring twice.
