Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are currently short on options up-front.

Glasgow Rangers boss Mark Warburton has confirmed that Joe Dodoo has frustratingly injured his groin and is set to be out with injury, on the club’s official website.

Dodoo was ruled out of playing against RB Leipzig in a friendly match, after damaging his groin.

And Rangers boss Warburton admits that he is taking no risks with the striker, during his recovery process.

“Joe Dodoo tweaked a groin in training in the warm up which is frustrating for him and for us of course because he would have had a good part to play at the weekend,” Warburton said.

“It is precautionary again, we need to make sure he is okay and he is in this morning getting treatment and we’ll see how he fares this week.”

Rangers are now short of options up-front as Joe Garner is also out with injury at the moment.

Rangers' Joe Garner celebrates

Garner hurt his shoulder during the Old-Firm derby match against Celtic, but should be back available in the near future.

“Joe will hopefully be back training within a week or so and then back with us within two or three weeks,” Warburton added.

“There is no surgery required right now. There is always a risk involved in it but the specialist and our medical team are happy with that risk and we’ll see how he goes.”

Garner had been in excellent form before picking up his injury, and his impending return will be a major boost for Warburton’s side.

Rangers are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Motherwell in the Scottish Cup fourth round at the weekend.
