Ibrox side Glasgow Rangers are currently in second place in the Scottish Premiership table.
Glasgow Rangers boss Mark Warburton has issued a fierce defence of his tactics, as per his comments in the Glasgow Evening Times.
Some pundits and supporters have criticised Warburton for lacking a ‘plan b’ during his time at Ibrox.
Rangers have rarely shifted from their 4-3-3 formation since Warburton took charge, even when things have been going against them.
However, Warburton insists that any criticism of his tactics of completely unfair – and he believes many people lack a basic understanding of formations.
“I read so much nonsense about rigid formations and they don’t recognise the movement within a formation,” he said.
“Whether it is 4-2-3-1 or 4-1-4-1 or a 4-3-3 it is all about movements and patterns, whether you play a two and a one or a one and two in midfield or whether you narrow up as a frontline.
“There is a lot of ignorance in certain quarters.”
Rangers are currently in second place in the Scottish Premiership table, but there has been some disappointment expressed over their start to the campaign.
Rangers have failed to put any pressure on Celtic, who are threatening to run away with the league title.
Rangers are already eight points behind their Glasgow rivals, who have three games in hand on them.
Warburton’s side are next in action at the weekend, when they take on Hearts at Ibrox.
