Glasgow Rangers boss Mark Warburton has told the Scotsman that even Jordan Rossiter was shocked by the level of scrutiny at Ibrox.

Rossiter joined Rangers from Liverpool during the summer transfer window, and even his time at one of England’s biggest clubs did not prepare him for a move to Glasgow.

Warburton says that Rossiter was shocked at the media attention Rangers receive, which has meant that some of his summer signings have taken a while to settle.

“Clint Hill, with his vast experience and where he’s played at, Niko [Kranjcar] vastly experienced internationally as well, they are staggered by the amount of focus on Rangers and Celtic,” Warburton said.

“But that’s Glasgow. It’s a goldfish bowl and it takes some getting used to. Every goal is scrutinised, every miss is scrutinised.

“Jordan Rossiter’s come from Liverpool and gone ‘bloody hell’.”

Rangers have faced criticism in recent weeks, as they have not started the new campaign in good form.

Rangers stormed to promotion last season, but they have taken a while to adapt to playing in the Scottish Premiership again.

The Light Blues have taken just nine points from their first seven matches back in the top flight and currently sit in seventh place.

Warburton is now under pressure, and Rangers will be determined to start hitting their groove again soon.

Rangers are next in action against Partick at Ibrox on Saturday, and three points could take them all the way up to second in the table.
