Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United reportedly want Denis Zakaria.

Sport-Bild reported on Thursday that Tottenham Hotspur are in the race to sign Denis Zakaria – and carry quotes from Borussia Monchengladbach’s sporting director about the situation.
Zakaria, 22, emerged in his native Switzerland with Servette and Young Boys, earning himself a spot in Switzerland’s EURO 2016 squad at just 19.
The powerhouse midfielder, who stands at 6ft 3in tall, earned a move to Germany with Borussia Monchengladbach in 2017, and he’s really impressing this season.
Zakaria is now a wanted man. Bayern Munich, Borussia Dortmund and Inter Milan are thought to be keen, whilst Manchester United and Tottenham allegedly want to bring him to England.
A fee of more than €50million (£43million) would reportedly be needed to prise him away from the Bundesliga side, who are unsurprisingly reluctant to sell.
Sporting director Max Eberl has now commented on the situation, admitting that the club are ‘extremely satisfied’ with Zakaria’s development, and are planning to keep him for the long-term.

However, Eberl is also realistic, noting that Gladbach can’t ignore huge cash offers for their players, as has been the case in the past with Granit Xhaka, Marco Reus, Marc-Andre Ter Stegen, Yann Sommer, Thorgan Hazard, Jannik Vestergarrd and Mickael Cuisance in recent years.
“We are extremely satisfied with Denis’ development and plan with him in the long term,” said Eberl. “Gladbach is and remains a club that relies on transfer fees. Of course, when immoral offers come, we have to deal with them,” he added.
That may give Tottenham hope of a deal, and Zakaria would be a fine addition. Zakaria is a huge presence, but he’s more than just a destroyer, as he has great ability on the ball and is quick to cover ground, earning some comparisons to Wilfred Ndidi – and that’s what Spurs need to bolster their midfield.
