Leeds United left it late to secure a draw at Preston North End on Tuesday night.
Gjanni Alioski was left seething after Leeds United weren’t awarded a penalty in the dying moments of their 1-1 draw with Preston North End on Tuesday night.
Leeds forward Tyler Roberts thought he had been fouled in the penalty area when receiving the ball but referee Kevin Friend waved it off and decided against awarding the penalty.
The whistle blew not long after and the Leeds players did vent their anger towards the referee because they felt that they were denied a stonewall penalty.
After the game, Alisoki claimed that it was ‘unbelievable’ how his side weren’t given that decision as he was very critical of the officials on the day.
“I’ve said this before,” Alioski told Leeds Live. “We fight against the team that we play and against the referees. It’s unbelievable that the referees don’t help us sometimes, because it’s a clear penalty.
“It’s unbelievable how they don’t see it. There are four referees on the pitch and nobody sees it. We can’t say it’s the referees, but what we need is that they know that we play high-intensity, and sometimes the other teams need to do fouls and they need to help us.”
It was another frustrating night for Bielsa and his players because they would have been annoyed with the manner in which they performed at Deepdale.
Once again, they failed to take their chances as Eddie Nketiah came off the bench to rescue them with a deft header to the delight of the packed-out away end.
But a point is a point, and judging by other results in the Championship on Tuesday, many of the teams around Leeds also dropped points.
