Ezgjan Alioski comments on his own form for Leeds this season

Gjanni Alioski has come in for some criticism at the start of this season at Leeds United.

In comments reported by Leeds Live, Gjanni Alioski has insisted that he has been happy with his form for Leeds at the start of this season, but admitted that he could offer more going forward.

Like much of his first season at Elland Road, Alioski’s form has been fairly mixed at the start of this term. He was superb in the opening two games of the campaign, helping Leeds to wins over Stoke and Derby County, but his performances have arguably tailed off slightly.

He was poor in the weekend defeat to Birmingham, but restored some pride with a superb late goal to hand Leeds a lifeline that they were unable to capitalise upon. Nevertheless, Alioski insisted that he thought that he has performed well at the start of this year.

“We started good. I am happy. I do always give 100 per cent. I helped my team with my performances if I work hard. I will always be better. I learn every day,” he said, as reported by Leeds Live.

“I can improve in the attack and be more aggressive. We train good with the tactic. Automatically I help in defence. I can do more in attack. It will come.”

Alioski is perhaps the one player in Bielsa’s squad who will be most relieved to hear that the Leeds boss has no plans to make any changes for the game with Sheffield Wednesday on Friday.

The wide-man does probably need to step up his game after his performances in recent weeks, but he has shown that he can definitely make a devastating impact if he does find his best form.

With Leeds hoping to soon have Pablo Hernandez back in the side, Alioski should perhaps be feeling the pressure to start performing again as the Spaniard’s displays before he got injured were fantastic.
