Everton face Huddersfield on Saturday at Goodison Park in Sam Allardyce’s first game in charge.

Shay Given has told Yahoo Sport’s ‘In On Goal’ that Everton could look for a different manager in the summer despite new boss Sam Allardyce signing a contract at Goodison Park until the summer of 2019.
Former England manager Allardyce is set to take over of his first match as Everton manager on Saturday afternoon on Merseyside, as the Toffees play host to newly-promoted Huddersfield at Goodison Park.
Given worked under Allardyce during the latter’s short spell in charge of Newcastle United, which saw him remain in charge for just the first half of the 2007-08 season at St. James’ Park.

Now, the former Newcastle, Stoke City and Manchester City goalkeeper stated that Allardyce would have been his choice if he was choosing Everton’s next manager, but claimed the Toffees hierarchy could look to appoint a replacement at the end of the season.
“Probably”, Given said, when asked if he would have brought Allarcyce to Everton. “Little bit panic stations at Everton, a month since they sacked Koeman. Results have been terrible and the nature of last week’s games, conceding nine goals in two games will have sent alarm bells ringing.
“I think they will keep them up, but maybe in the summer they should look at a different target. They need to get back to keeping clean sheets, they had a good result in midweek but Sam will be thinking ‘lets not get carried away’.”

Allardyce was in attendance at Goodison Park on Wednesday as he watched his newly-inherited side brush aside another of his former clubs in West Ham, thanks to a comfortable 4-0 scoreline.
Former England captain Wayne Rooney scored an impressive hat-trick including a goal from inside his own half after a weak Joe Hart clearance, before Ashley Williams rounded off the rout with a trademark header.
The Toffees will be looking to earn just a fifth league win of the season at home to Huddersfield, who have lost their last three matches following Wednesday’s 5-0 loss to Arsenal.
