The end is near for Cameron Carter-Vickers at Tottenham Hotspur.
According to Team Talk, the long-serving Spurs centre-back is close to joining Championship outfit Bournemouth.
Carter-Vickers, a USA international, hasn’t turned out for Tottenham in a competitive game for well over three years, though he featured in some pre-season friendlies in recent weeks.
The 22-year-old has been on the North Londoners’ books since way back in 2009.
But despite five separate loan spells away from the club since 2017, a permanent exit looms for the powerful defender.
And here’s how Tottenham fans are reacting to the prospect of him joining the Cherries:
It’ll be interesting to see if Jose Mourinho signs a centre-back this summer.
Although Carter-Vickers wasn’t a senior or seasoned member of the squad, he was an option and with Jan Vertonghen gone, and Juan Foyth linked away, it wouldn’t be a huge surprise if the Portuguese coach asked Daniel Levy for some reinforcements in that area.
Tottenham have signed three players this summer – Joe Hart, Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg and Matt Doherty – but with less than four weeks left in the window, there’s still time for more additions.
