Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly interested in signing Liverpool hitman Divock Origi this winter.
According to The Athletic journalist James Pearce, the Reds wouldn’t stand in the Belgian striker’s way if he decided to quit Anfield.
Origi has been a spectator for Liverpool this season and has only managed seven minutes of Premier League football, spread across two appearances.
Jurgen Klopp signed Diogo Jota from Wolves this past summer and that arrival has certainly plunged the former Lille star further down the pecking order on Merseyside.
Despite being something of a cult hero, Origi, who scored twice in that Champions League win over Barcelona in 2019 and again in the final, seems to serve little purpose as a Liverpool player.
And here’s how some fans reacted to The Athletic’s report:
Seven minutes in the Premier League speaks absolute volumes.
It’s time for Origi to leave Anfield after a decent six-year spell, but it hasn’t really worked out for the most part and it probably never will.
