Tottenham fans have taken to Twitter to react after Calciomercato revealed that Jose Mourinho’s side are interested in AC Milan maestro Franck Kessie.

The Italian news outlet also state that Arsenal are interested in the midfielder.

Calciomercato say that AC Milan – who sit atop Serie A – may not even sell the Ivory Coast international for a fee in the region of €40 – €50 million (£36 million – £45 million).

That is because the 23-year-old has emerged as a leader at the San Siro.

Despite his relatively young age, Kessie has stepped up and taken penalties in the absence of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, and Milan are keen to extend his contract which expires in 2022, according to Calciomercato.

The Ouragahio-born powerhouse is described by Calciomercato as a ‘pillar’ of Stefano Pioli’s table-topping machine.

Kessie seems perfectly suited to the Premier League given his impressive physical attributes, while technically, he seems just as good.

Milan’s No.79 has scored four goals and recorded three assists from midfield in just ten Serie A outings this season, which is excellent form.

If Kessie did sign for Spurs, it’s tough to envisage how he’d fit into an already bloated midfield containing options such as Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso, Moussa Sissoko, Dele Alli, Harry Winks and Gedson Fernandes.

Nevertheless, let’s see how the Tottenham fans on Twitter reacted to the news…
