“Give me a team of Charlie Adam’s any day”

Here’s an interesting stance from a Liverpool fan, quite ‘against the grain’ of recent opinion on the midfielder.

Yesterday we ran an article entitled ‘Selling Aquilani but keeping Charlie Adam just feels wrong’ and we just wanted to re-run a comment from one of our readers in case others missed it.

From a poster by the name of ‘i bleed red’: “Charlie Adam is the sort of player that we have been missing for a long time. He doesn’t go around pulling up trees but he’s he a grafter, willing to get stuck in, with a physical presence other players hate playing against (hope the injury is ok Gareth!)

“He isn’t a pretty player, far from it but he’s the sort of player every successful team needs to compete in the Premiership. It also goes some way to your other non-point with regards to Aquillani. I rest my case with the sort of player he is. A good footballer but without bottle and a lack of passion that makes him the sort of player we’ve carried in years gone by.

“Beautiful football maybe be the way in Spain or Italy, but the Premier League is far too passionate for the likes of our Italian friend. Give me a team of Charlie Adam’s any day!”

A reply to the comment read: “Horrible on corners. No clue how to pass intricate passes. No vision. Overated. Slow. No class. Not agile. Can passion really paint over the bad spots?”

Where do you stand? Would you like a team of Charlie Adam’s over a team of players like Aquilani?
