Kevin Campbell has suggested on the Highbury Squad Youtube channel that Arsenal should sell Matteo Guendouzi in the summer of 2021.
The former Arsenal striker, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, believes that the Gunners should cash in on Guendouzi if they are made an offer of £15 million.
The France Under-21 international midfielder joined German club Hertha Berlin on loan from the Gunners in the summer of 2020.
There were issues with Guendouzi at Arsenal last season, and Campbell believes that the North London outfit should sell him if they get £15 million, adding that the youngster is unlikely to find a new club in the Premier League.
Campbell said about Guendouzi on the Highbury Squad Youtube channel: “He won’t be in the Premier League. Think about it. If he has been a problem in your house, why would I want him at my club?”
The Englishman added: “Give me £15 million. 100%. I don’t think you would get £20 million, but if you give me £15 million, thank you very much.”
Making a profit
According to Goal.com, Arsenal paid Lorient £7 million in transfer fees when they signed Guendouzi in the summer of 2018.
Selling the 21-year-old for £15 million at the end of the season would mean a profit of £8 million.
That would not be a bad idea. After all, the youngster does not seem to feature in Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta’s plans, and cashing in on him at the end of the season would make sense.
