Many Liverpool fans suggested that they should let Glasgow Rangers sign Taiwo Awoniyi instead of Celtic.

Rangers and Celtic have both been linked with the Liverpool forward, with 90 Minutes suggesting that the Old-Firm pair are keen to snap him up for £5 million.

With Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard in charge at Ibrox, Rangers obviously have strong links at Anfield.

And many Liverpool fans feel that they should allow Awoniyi to go to Rangers to boost Gerrard’s chances of success.

Awoniyi could be an appealing addition at Rangers, as he has shown a strong eye for goal in Germany.

The 23-year-old has five goals in 13 league games in the Bundesliga this term, which suggests he would have the quality to make an impact in Scotland.

Rangers are hardly in dire need of new additions, as they are so far clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership standings, but if Awoniyi was to arrive he would only help to further strengthen their squad for the remainder of the season.
