Tottenham Hotspur fans have been left impressed by Pierre Emile Hojbjerg’s reaction after Denmark secured their place in the knockout stages at Euro 2020 last night.
In a dramatic evening, the Tottenham midfielder helped his country to a 4-1 victory over Russia.
Denmark had, of course, been rocked the Christian Eriksen incident in their first game, and they went into last night pointless.
However, results went in their favour and Denmark ended up securing second place in the group.
That sparked joyous scenes in Copenhagen, with Hojbjerg right in the middle of his national team’s huddle, given his teammates a pep talk.
Leader for club and country
Hojbjerg has already become one of Tottenham’s leaders, despite only being there for a season.
It has been noticeable that the midfield enforcer has always fronted up to the media in difficult circumstances, and he has been a driving force in Spurs’ midfield for much of his first season.
There is already talk that he could become Tottenham’s next captain when Hugo Lloris does leave.
Denmark will now take on Wales in their next match on Saturday.
