Sheffield United supporters on Twitter have urged their club to give reported Rangers target John Lundstram a new contract after his performance in the Premier League on Sunday.
Chris Wilder’s side suffered yet another defeat yesterday, with Jose Mourinho’s Tottenham inflicting a 16th defeat of the season on the Yorkshire side.
Even though there is uncertainty surrounding Lundstram’s future amid those Rangers rumours, Sheffield United fans still believe he put in a top-quality performance.
The Athletic claims that Rangers are still admirers of the Sheffield United midfielder and they are willing to wait in the wings for his signature.
Rangers don’t need Lundstram’s talents right now given that they are absolutely flying in the Premiership.
It’s just a case of when Rangers will stop the ten-in-a-row rather than if, so Steven Gerrard doesn’t need the combative midfielder to swap England’s top-flight for Scotland’s right now.
Plus, his contract is due to expire at the end of the season, so that will be the best opportunity for the Gers to pounce on his signature.
Until then, Rangers will be pretty pleased to hear that things are going well for Lundstram even though his team are heading towards an utterly disastrous campaign.
