David Wagner was keen to sing the praises of Crysencio Summerville after his brace helped Leeds United produce a stunning comeback at Norwich City on Saturday.

Heading into the break, Daniel Farke’s Leeds United were 2-0 down and starring at defeat against one of their promotion rivals.

But when you have quality players on the pitch, like Crysencio Summerville, then they can turn a game on its head in an instant and that’s exactly what he did.

Norwich boss David Wagner was annoyed at the ‘sloppy’ goals his team conceded, but he was sure to single out Crysencio Summerville for his goals and how ‘you have to give credit to the player’, as he told The Pinkun

After the game, transfer expert Fabrizio Romano dropped some interesting transfer news about Crysencio Summerville, as he continues to go from strength to strength.

The 21-year-old has made a strong start to the campaign and has four goals and two assists to his name (transfermarkt) – those goals and assists will only hit double figures by the end of the campaign, that’s for sure.

“The first one, we were very sloppy in the final third where we have to show composure,” said Wagner.

“I think we defended the 3 v 3 quite well to narrow the centre and to give the wide area, then the cross and we conceded an own goal.

“In the second, I like to give credit to the player. I think it was a quality shot. And the third one, it’s wrong decision-making, it’s a free-kick – this hurts and we have to take it on the chin.”

Leeds United starting to motor

Those early few weeks of the new season, or when the summer transfer window was still open, didn’t help Leeds United and their quest for promotion.

Players were leaving, going on strike, uncertainty all around the place and it wasn’t helping Farke’s cause.

But credit to the Leeds boss, he kept faith in his players and tried to keep everyone on their feet and now they are reaping the rewards for it.

Will it cost them a possible top-two finish at the end of the season? Only time will tell because Leicester City are 11 points clear at the top and they are well and truly flying.

You might as well book their promotion now because it’s pretty obvious that they are heading back to the Premier League.
