Some Blackpool fans have praised Arsenal-owned Daniel Ballard on Twitter for his performance on Saturday.

Ballard, loaned out to Blackpool by Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta and technical director Edu, was in action against Oxford United away from home in League One yesterday.

The 21-year-old, who can operate as a central defender or as a defensive midfielder, had yet another good game and scored the second goal in the 42nd minute.

Neil Critchley’s side won the match 2-0 and enhanced their chances of finishing in the League One playoffs.

The Seasiders are now 10th in the league table with 53 points from 33 matches, just three points behind sixth-placed Charlton Athletic.

According to WhoScored, the 21-year-old took two shots, had a pass accuracy of 64.3%, won five headers, took 40 touches, made four clearances, and put in one cross.

So far this season, Ballard has played in central defence for Blackpool and has scored two goals in 16 League One games, according to WhoScored.

Some Blackpool fans were impressed by the display produced by Ballard on Saturday and have praised him on Twitter, with one or two calling for his loan deal to be made permanent.
