Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst has told the Gers’ official website that Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are a “top side” ahead of the UEFA Champions League game between the two teams at Anfield next week.

Premier League club Liverpool will take on Scottish Premiership outfit Rangers at Anfield in UEFA Champions League Group A on Tuesday evening.

The Reds are second in Group A at the moment with three points from two matches, three points behind leaders Napoli.

Rangers currently find themselves fourth in the group with no point from two games.

The Gers will head into the match against Liverpool on the back of a 4-0 win against Heart of Midlothian away from home in the Scottish Premiership.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst on Liverpool v Rangers at Anfield

Van Bronckhorst said: “It is always easier to work towards the next game when you have a good win so that is very positive. The opponent we are facing on Tuesday, Liverpool, are a top side in Europe so we will have to be ready.

“We have two days to recover and to prepare tactically for a big game and it is always good to do that after a win.”

Intriguing match

Liverpool won the UEFA Champions League not so long ago and have a much bigger pedigree than Rangers in the competition.

The Gers have not scored a single goal and have already conceded seven goals in Europe’s premier club competition this campaign.

We think that Liverpool will be able to pick up all three points from the match against Rangers with relative ease.
