Giovanni van Bronckhorst has been linked with an Ibrox return as Glasgow Rangers look for their next manager.

Giovanni van Bronckhorst has told Sky Sports that he is fully focused on his job at Feyenoord amid rumours linking him with the vacant manager’s job at former club Rangers – but he added that he would not close the door on a future Ibrox return.
The Gers are still looking for their next manager having parted company with Pedro Caixinha last month. And while there does not seem to have been any reported interest in van Bronckhorst from the Scottish Premiership side, he has, at one stage, been the second favourite with the bookies for the job.

And ahead of Feyenoord’s Champions League game with Manchester City on Tuesday night, van Bronckhorst – who spent three years on Rangers’ books as a player – seemed to quash any suggestion that he would become Caixinha’s successor, but did hint that he would not rule out a future move.
“I’ve seen the media coverage but I’m fully focused at Feyenoord and I will be focusing on Feyenoord for the coming years. Obviously, I had a great time in Scotland with Rangers, I think one of the best times I had abroad, but for me, all that counts is Feyenoord. You can never tell, maybe in the future but it’s still a club that’s also in my heart,” he told Sky Sports.

Based on the work that van Bronckhorst has done since taking the Feyenoord job, it would appear that it would be a coup for Rangers if they manage to bring the Dutchman in at some point in the future.
Van Bronckhorst oversaw the Eredivisie title win last season and the KNVB Cup the year before, so appears set to enjoy a very bright managerial career, and, while it will not be anytime soon, perhaps his path will cross with Rangers’ at some point in the future.
