The young Georgian midfielder has been linked with a move to Tottenham Hotspur.
Tottenham Hotspur have been linked with a move for Gent starlet Giorgi Chakvetadze.
The 18-year-old, who can play as a central midfielder or a left winger, is an exciting prospect and is also being monitored by Bournemouth, as reported by HLN.
Chakvetadze, a Georgia U21 international, joined Gent from Dinamo Tbilisi last summer but has had to be patient for first-team opportunities at his new club and has only one senior appearance so far.
However, Chakvetadze provided an indication of his quality while playing for Dinamo Tbilisi last season as he scored five goals and provided eleven assists in 28 games across all competitions.
Chakvetadze is certainly an exciting prospect but it is clear that he would initially be on the periphery of proceedings if he was to join Tottenham.
That, though, wouldn’t especially be a bad thing for the youngster as he would benefit hugely from training with extremely talented players such as Christian Eriksen.
If the move did go ahead then Chakvetadze would probably undergo a similar process to what Juan Foyth has done this season, with the young centre-back having featured in cup competitions while he has been on the bench in the Premier League.
Chakvetadze is at the stage in his development where he can learn immensely from senior players and could gradually be eased into the senior setup at Tottenham before hopefully going on to make a major impact.
