Tom Huddlestone was unveiled as a Derby County player yesterday, making a return to the club he left in 2005.

BBC Sport report Huddlestone has signed a two-year deal, leaving Hull City who he joined in 2013.

The transfer has set Derby back just £2 million, a potential bargain for the 30-year-old.

The move has been welcomed by Giles Barnes, who was just breaking through at Derby when Huddlestone was sold in 2005.

Barnes commented on Twitter to express his excitement at Huddlestone clinching a return to Derby.

Barnes, 28, is currently playing in Major League Soccer with Orlando City.

He told the Derby Telegraph earlier this year that he came close to re-signing with Derby in 2015.

Clearly he will be watching Huddlestone’s return with interest, and hoping he can help the Rams finally clinch promotion back to the Premier League.
