Nottingham Forest are through to the next round of the Carabao Cup after a superb win over Premier League side Newcastle United.
Forest led for most of the game after an opening goal from ex-Newcastle forward Daryl Murphy before Newcastle equalised in stoppage time.
Just when the game looked like it may head for penalties, Forest popped up with two late goals to swing the tie back in their favour.
Forest summer signing Gil Dias scored the club’s final goal, and he sent a message out on Twitter following the win, exclaiming his delight.
Dias’ message was soon followed by one from Nottingham Forest manager Aitor Karanka.
The Spaniard said he believes the win will be vital for his team’s confidence.
Tipped as one of the promotion favourites, Forest have had an underwhelming start, sitting in 13th place after five games.
They remain unbeaten, having won one and drawn four, and will be determined to kick on this weekend in a tough fixture away at Brentford.
