Martin Jol has raved about Julian Nagelsmann amid speculation linking him as a potential replacement for Antonio Conte at Tottenham Hotspur.

The former Tottenham manager has said on talkSPORT (4:40pm, March 27, 2023) that Spurs target Nagelsmann is brilliant and would be a great appointment for the North London club.

Nagelsmann was sacked as the Bayern Munich manager last week, and former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel replaced him at the Allianz Arena.

The London Evening Standard have reported that the 35-year-old is now the favourite to replace Conte at Tottenham at the end of the season.

Conte has left Spurs by mutual agreement.

Cristian Stellini has replaced the former Chelsea boss as the Tottenham boss for the rest of the season.

Martin Jol on Tottenham manager target Julian Nagelsmann

Jol said: “There are still one or two very good ones around. I think Nagelsmann for example is the best in Europe.

“He’s young, he is gifted, he is talented. He did well at Hoffenheim, he did well at Leipzig. He did very well with a smaller team, you know and they didn’t have all the resources. There are a few guys on the market.”

The former Spurs boss added: “I don’t want to give other clubs an idea but I think Nagelsmann is the best. He’s a great manager.”

HITC Verdict: Potentially good managerial appointment for Spurs

In our view, Julian Nagelsmann is a very good and progressive manager who would be a brilliant appointment for Tottenham Hotspur.

The German is only 35.

That Bayern Munich decided to appoint Nagelsmann in the first place shows just how good and highly rated he is.

Now, of course, if Tottenham do appoint the German, then they have to allow him time and allow give him the players that he need.

But, we believe that if Spurs make the right offer, then the former Bayern boss will come to the Premier League club.
