Giannis Antetokounmpo has been the subject of trade speculation once again, following reports that the New York Knicks and Milwaukee Bucks discussed a potential deal over the summer.

The Knicks reportedly held talks with the Bucks about acquiring Giannis Antetokounmpo, but nothing came of it.

There were also reports that Giannis was interested in moving to New York, which only fueled further speculation.

But as training camps get underway and the regular season approaches, Giannis made sure to set the record straight.

Giannis Antetokounmpo addresses rumors and says he’s ‘loyal’ to the Bucks

Giannis is still tied to the Bucks for another two seasons and will be eligible for an extension after this year.

He opened up about where his head is at during an appearance on The 2night Show, giving a rare look into how he really feels about the situation. “I’m loyal. Milwaukee gave me everything, they changed my life and my family’s life.”

While trade talk always circles around big names like Giannis, especially with a market as big as New York involved, there haven’t been any signs yet that either side is close to moving forward with a deal.

The Knicks have built a strong team over the past couple of years, finishing fourth in the East last season with a 50-32 record before falling to Indiana in the conference semifinals. Adding someone like Giannis would push them into championship contention, but they’ll need to come up with more than just draft picks if they want Milwaukee to take them seriously.

The Milwaukee Bucks’ expectations for the 2025-26 NBA season

Antetokounmpo looks set on staying in Milwaukee and has made it clear that he wants to win another title with the team.

However, there are plenty of questions about whether this roster is built for a deep playoff run. The Bucks have brought in Myles Turner, hoping he can be a major factor alongside Giannis.

But until Turner proves he can make that kind of difference, doubts will remain about the Bucks’ chances of competing at the very top.
