Mehrdad Ghodoussi, the co-owner of Newcastle United, reminded Bruno Guimaraes of his promise that he would love the club, after he won the Man of the Match award in his side’s 2-0 win against Leicester City in the Carabao Cup quarter-final.
Guimaraes, as is standard procedure at this point, ran the show from start to finish against Leicester from the middle of the mark.
The £120,000-a-week ace has been a revelation since joining Newcastle in January last year.
Bruno Guimaraes was one of the protagonists behind Eddie Howe and Co. managing to finish as high as 9th in the Premier League last season.
The same is the case this campaign, as Guimaraes has been key to Newcastle being as high as 3rd in the league, whilst being in the Carabao Cup semi-final after beating Leicester.
At Lyon, the £33 million (Daily Mail) man was simply seen as a sparkling talent, who could perhaps make waves elsewhere in Europe.
But now, the fan favourite at St. James’ Park is recognised across the league as one of the finest midfielders around.
Mehrdad Ghodoussi sends 7-word message to Bruno Guimaraes on Instagram after Leicester win

Newcastle United co-owner, Mehrdad Ghodoussi posted a 7-word message directed at Bruno Guimaraes on Instagram, reminding the player of his promise that he would fall in love with the club.
The post was captioned, “Thanks for everything in my life! Living my dreams here.”
“I told you, you will love Newcastle”, Ghodoussi replied to Guimaraes via Instagram.
Smart from the Newcastle co-owner to have a seemingly strong bond with Guimaraes
Generally speaking, owners in football tend to barely interact with the players or the fans.
But Mehrdad Ghodoussi is one of one, as he is constantly seen commenting on Newcastle players’ Instagram posts, as seen in the case of Bruno Guimaraes after his Man of the Match display against Leicester.
This approach is an astute one, as it makes star players like Guimaraes feel at home.
