Speaking on the Last Word on Spurs YouTube channel, Daily Mail journalist Sami Mokbel has been talking about Tottenham and their interest in Weston McKennie.
It has been reported this week that Spurs are keen on McKennie, so much so that they’ve even been in contact with his representatives.
However, despite the fact Spurs are interested in McKennie, Mokbel is led to believe that a move for the American is more likely to head to north London in the summer, with the journalist claiming spurs are getting ready for a swoop at the end of the season.
What’s been said about McKennie?
The journalist gave his view on the McKennie situation.
“I think the summer would be more likely for that one, but they’re certainly getting their ducks in a row for the summer to get McKennie in through the door. The appointment of Paratici in the summer has opened the Serie A door for Tottenham, and his knowledge of that market and his contacts in that market should prove really valuable for Tottenham. I’m not surprised that Paratici can open that door to someone like McKennie,” Mokbel said.
“There are certainly legs in that deal, but it’s just whether or not he’s someone they target now or in the summer, and I think it’s one that’s more likely in the summer.”

Big summer coming
It sounds as though Tottenham could have a big summer ahead of them.
The London club haven’t had the most active January window in their history, but with Fabio Paratici and Antonio Conte now at the helm, you have to feel that a squad reshuffle isn’t too far away.
McKennie signing in the summer would certainly be a great start for Spurs as they look to return to being challengers for football’s major honours.
