Barry produced some encouraging displays earlier in the campaign, but now, under the guidance of Alan Pardew, the former England international is making a major impact and he was excellent in the goalless draw at home to his former side Everton yesterday.
The 36-year-old certainly isn’t the most spectacular player in the world, but he is extremely effective at breaking up play and distributing short, snappy passes to his team-mates.
West Brom have another challenging game on Sunday when they host Arsenal and if he features Barry will again have an important part to play for Pardew’s team.
Bringing in suitable signings in the January transfer window will certainly be vitally important in terms of helping West Brom to stay up, but a fit and thriving Barry could end up making all the difference.
