After grabbing his first goal for Fulham against Norwich this weekend who is the Swedish youngster?
Here are 10 facts about him…
1. Alex was born in Helsingborg’s Sweden in 1991 and started his career as a trainee with Helsingborg IF in the year 2000 aged just 9.
2. His impressive performances in Sweden saw him being snapped up by Liverpool as a 16 year old in 2007.
3. During his time at Liverpool he helped them to the 2009 FA Youth Cup final, scoring a brilliant goal despite eventually losing out on the trophy to an Arsenal side containing Jack Wilshere, Emmanuel Frimpong and Francis Coquelin.
4. He moved to Fulham in 2010 along with fellow youngster Lauri Dalla Valle as part of a deal seeing Paul Konchesky go the other way.
5. It was at Watford however, during a loan spell, that he first began to shine. Making 12 appearances and scoring one goal against Burnley in March he returned to Fulham early in order to get Premier League experience in the closing fixtures.
6. He made his Fulham debut, coincidentally against Norwich, and almost capped the debut with a goal but was denied by John Ruddy and the crossbar.
7. A week later he started his first Premier League match, playing 88 minutes in a 3-0 win over Bolton.
8. Alex is of Macedonian heritage.
9. He has an older brother Robin who is also a professional footballer currently playing for Partizan Belgrade’s reserve team and has previously played for Helsinborgs and current Danish champions FC Nordsjaelland.
10. A regular at youth international level for Sweden his impressive performances for Watford and during pre-season with Fulham saw Alex win his first international cap last week against Brazil.
