The luck just isn’t with the Liverpool players this season as Caoimhin Kelleher has been denied the chance to represent his country this month.
Kelleher would have been dreaming about making his debut for the Republic of Ireland ahead of the upcoming internationals.
But the 22-year-old has been forced to withdraw because of a continued stomach injury, according to Sky Sports.
Liverpool fans on Twitter are wishing their back-up shot-stopper a quick recovery because he has produced some outstanding performances when giving a chance this term.
It just sums up Liverpool’s season that near-on every week, their fans are anticipating some sort of knock or injury to one of their players.
In Kelleher’s case, he has been out of action because of an abdominal tear for over a month now and it’s a shame he cannot be fit in time to make his international bow.
There’s no doubt his time will come but he did deserve a shot this month following those performances both domestically and especially in Europe.
