Jamie Carragher picked up on Everton fans becoming frustrated with Alex Iwobi yesterday, as per his comments to Sky Sports.
Frustrations rising
Iwobi was selected to start for Everton against West Ham United yesterday, but he failed to put in a particularly impressive display.
The Nigerian international firstly started out wide before being moved into a more central role by Rafael Benitez.
However, he didn’t exactly excel in either position and from early on Carragher picked up that Everton fans weren’t particularly enamoured by their £35 million man (Sky Sports).
“It’s Iwobi who put the cross in on the left hand side, the fans have actually been getting on his back slightly in the opening half an hour,” he said.
Struggling at Goodison
Iwobi has struggled to live up to his price tag ever since joining Everton.

He is now only really playing a bit part role and his performance yesterday has done little to suggest that he is ready to start on a more regular basis.
Everton ultimately lost 1-0 to West Ham and they struggled to pose much of an attacking threat without both Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Richarlison.
Everton’s defeat means that West Ham have now leapfrogged them in the table, with Benitez’s side slipping down to eighth place.
