David Moyes has told his pre-match press conference that Jesse Lingard has looked ‘very good’ in West Ham training this week.
The 28-year-old has been a revelation for West Ham ever since they decided to pluck him out of the wilderness at Manchester United in January.
It was a bold move, it was a risky move and it’s one that is now paying off, as the light-footed playmaker has proven by his goals and assists.
Ahead of West Ham’s showdown with Mikel Arteta’a side today, Moyes was asked about how Lingard has looked in training.
“He has looked very good (in training),” said Moyes. “I think since the day he has come in everybody has been a bit surprised by how good his fitness is.
“By how good his all-round game is. I can see by the way he is working that he’s even getting better. His physical data has got better.
“And, overall, he has been very good for us. He has helped us. He has given us another string to our bow and given us more attacking options, so we are pleased with him.”

Lingard missed West Ham’s defeat at Old Trafford because it was against his parent club, but he’s back to face familiar opponents.
The recalled England international loves a goal or two against Arsenal and it wouldn’t be a surprise if he’s at it again today.
That’s the last thing Arsenal want to see, Lingard, putting the ball into the back of the net and then dancing on the London Stadium turf.
