Trevor Sinclair told talkSPORT that Jesse Lingard should join West Ham and not Paris Saint Germain amid rumours.

The former winger was told by talkSPORT reporter, Alex Crook, that PSG are seemingly looking to bring Lingard’s talents to the capital of France.

It shouldn’t be a surprise that Lingard is attracting this sort of interest after going goal-crazy at West Ham during his brief loan spell.

And whilst those at the London Stadium would love to secure his talents, the bottom line is that the 28-year-old England international is still a Manchester United player.

But with suggestions that he will leave Old Trafford this summer, Sinclair made it clear that he should only head in one direction.

“Can I just say,” said Sinclair. “Jesse Lingard, get to the capital of England rather than the capital of France.

“You are loved at West Ham. Get yourself there, boy.”

West Ham are competing in Europe in 20221/22, so squad depth will be needed for David Moyes.

Lingard has one year left on his contract, but that might not stop those in the Old Trafford boardroom from wanting big money for their academy player.

If that’s the case then the previously under-fire West Ham owners will be tested to see if they push the boat out and bring him to the club.

West Ham need to set the bar high and the mood pretty positive early on by signing Lingard up on a permanent basis, if they don’t then fans might just get a little frustrated with those making the decisions at the top.
