‘Get yourself back’ – These fans want Rangers winger signed after impressive loan

Rangers winger Jordan Jones has thanked Sunderland after this loan spell at the Stadium of Light came to an end – telling fans of the Black Cats he “loved” his time at the club.

Jones joined the League One side just before the winter transfer window closed, joining fellow Rangers loanee George Edmundson in making a late move south of the border after breaching Covid rules.

Despite being unable to help Sunderland secure a return to the Championship, Jones is looking forward to seeing what the future brings for the Mackems.

“Good luck to Sunderland for the future. A massive club which I loved playing for.” Jones tweeted.

“Thank you for the opportunity and a big thank you to the fans for all the love and support since I arrived.

“I look forward to seeing the club where it belongs in the future. Thank you.”

The Northern Ireland internation has made 21 appearances for the Mackems, scoring three times and chipping in with four assists, but couldn’t get off the bench in the second leg as they lost 3-2 on aggregate to Lincoln City in the Playoffs.

Sunderland fans were quick to reply to the Rangers winger – pleading with him to make his switch permanent after impressing during his stint with with the Mackems.
