Some Liverpool fans on Twitter have urged the Reds to sign Yves Bissouma after watching him in action against Everton.

There is no (credible) report anywhere at the moment that Liverpool want to sign Bissouma from Brighton and Hove Albion in the summer of 2021, although The Sunday Mirror (13/12/20, page 73) reported interest from the Reds in the January transfer window.

Arsenal are interested in the 24-year-old midfielder, according to a report in The Express in March, which added that the Gunners have already made enquires about the Mali international.

Now some Liverpool fans on Twitter want the Reds to make a move for Bissouma at the end of the season and bring him in as a potential replacement for Georginio Wijnaldum, as shown below.

The Netherlands international midfielder is out of contract at Liverpool at the end of the season, and no new deal is in place yet.

Bissouma was in action for Brighton in their Premier League game against Everton at home on Monday evening.

The 24-year-old had a brilliant game in the middle of the park and was arguably the best player on the pitch.

The Mali international showed energy, class and good decision-making, and he also went close to scoring with a spectacular overhead kick.

According to WhoScored, the midfielder took three shots but none was on target, played two key passes, had a pass accuracy of 86.8%, won one header, took 77 touches, attempted three dribbles, made five tackles and three clearances, and put in two crosses.

So far this season, the Mali international has made 28 starts and one substitute appearance in the Seagulls, scoring one goal in the process, according to WhoScored.

During the 2019-20 campaign, Bissouma made 15 starts and seven substitute appearances in the league, while in 2018-19, the Mali international made 17 starts and 11 substitute appearances in the league, according to WhoScored.

Brighton paid Lille £15 million for Bissouma in the summer of 2018, according to Sky Sports and may not be willing to sell him at the end of the season.

It looks very likely now that the Seagulls will not get relegated to the Championship at the end of the season, so the club may not be keen on losing any of their best players to do well in the Premier League in 2021-22.

Bissouma is a very good and capable central midfielder who has been a success in the Premier League and is ready to take the next step in his career.

A move to Liverpool would be very appealing to the 24-year-old, especially if Wijnaldum leaves and a spot opens up in the middle of the park.

The Merseyside club are not having the best of seasons, but they won the Premier League only last year and the Champions League the year before.

Bissouma is a very good central midfielder who can protect the back-line and also force the team forward, as he showed during the goalless draw with Everton on Monday.

It remains to be seen if Liverpool bosses take the suggestion from the fans and make a move for Bissouma.
