An offer was first submitted some six weeks ago but a thorough investigation into PIF’s finances and background, following the broadcast piracy suggestions from beIN Sport, has delayed a decision.
And Sky Sports News reported yesterday that the Premier League has indeed finally given the greenlight over the proposal.
And Chopra, who began his career with the Magpies, believes that it’s time for the North-East supporters to finally crack open the cans in celebration, though there is no official announcement from anybody as of yet.
If and when there’s an announcement, it’s a double success for United.
Not only will they have gotten rid of the villainous Mike Ashley, but he’ll be replaced by a man with a fortune in the high billions in Mohammed Bin Salman, and brighter days will certain to happen at Newcastle once again.
