Tony Adams has suggested that Arsenal should get rid of both Cedric and Hector Bellerin and bring in a new right-back this summer, through his comments to Stadium Astro.
Bellerin has struggled for form this season, despite being a key part of Mikel Arteta’s side, while Cedric has only really proven his worth as back-up.
Cedric has, at least, provided fairly reliable cover – but Adams has questioned the wisdom of bringing in the Portuguese defender in the first place.
And he would like Arsenal to completely change their right-back area in the summer transfer window.
“If you’re bringing players in who is a lesser standard, you don’t get someone that’s less than what you’ve got,” he said.
“Cedric, is he better than Bellerin? Have you made an improvement there? Take it or leave it.
“Or are you telling me we need two? Get rid of two and get a good one! That would be the opinion that I would have.

“You always bring in players better than the ones you have got or don’t bring them to the club.”
Adams may actually get his wish with regards to Bellerin, as his future looks very uncertain.
CBS Sports have suggested that Arsenal could look to sell the right-back in the summer, as they clear the decks.
If that was to happen a new right-sided defender would surely be on the Gunners’ radar, even if Cedric was to remain at the club.
Arsenal have recently been linked with Norwich City’s Max Aarons in Football London, as they assess their options ahead of the summer.
