Chris Sutton has taken to Twitter to give his reaction to Celtic player Boli Bolingoli-Mbombo breaking lockdown rules.

The former Celtic striker is not pleased with the 25-year-old – who can operate as a left-sided midfielder or as a left-back – and wants the Glasgow giants to severe ties with him.

As reported by The Scottish Sun, the Belgian went off on holiday to Spain, did not self-isolate when he returned, and played for the Hoops in their Scottish Premiership game against Kilmarnock on Sunday.

The report has claimed that Bolingoli-Mbombo has tested negative for the virus, and has quoted him as saying that he has “made a huge mistake”.

Bolingoli-Mbombo has apologised for his actions, as quoted in The Scottish Sun, but Celtic have reportedly launched an internal investigation into the matter and are ‘furious’ with him.

Sutton, who now works as a pundit for BBC Sport and BT Sport, has given his take on the matter on Twitter, and he has urged Celtic to “get rid immediately” of the Belgian, who moved to the Glasgow giants from Rapid Vienna in the summer of 2019 for a transfer fee reported by The Scottish Sun to be worth £3 million.
