Leicester City star James Maddison has reacted on Twitter to beating Tottenham Hotspur on Sunday.

Brendan Rodgers’s side picked up a brilliant 2-0 win away to Spurs to move second in the Premier League table.

A Jamie Vardy penalty and an own goal from Toby Alderweireld sealed Tottenham’s fate on a day when the scoreline might’ve been worse for Jose Mourinho’s troops.

The Foxes also had a goal chalked off three minutes after the restart when Maddison’s well-taken finish was ruled offside after a VAR check.

And the 24-year-old, a £20 million addition in 2018, has joked on Twitter that if not for his armpit hair being offside, the goal would have stood.

For Tottenham, it looks like there’s a bit of work to do before Mourinho’s side are Premier League title challengers.

The North Londoners are now fifth in the table and six points behind Liverpool, who beat them 2-1 at Anfield in midweek.

Spurs began that Wednesday at the summit and a six-point deficit now goes to show how much things can change in a short period of time.
