Kevin Campbell has slammed the ‘nonsense’ claims of Liverpool possibly signing Arsenal star, Bukayo Saka, as he told the Highbury Squad.

The former striker claimed that Saka is going ‘nowhere’ and he is ‘worth nothing’ because the Hale-End academy product is ‘invaluable’ to Arsenal.

There were suggestions that Liverpool are interested in Saka’s services, as Ian McGarry told the Transfer Window Podcast.

Saka is one of Arsenal’s best players, a rising star and a shining light during dark times for the club.

It’s understandable why Campbell reacted to those Saka rumours by saying ‘get out of here’ and made it clear that such a deal won’t happen.

“He ain’t worth nothing,” said Campbell. “He’s not worth anything because he’s not for sale, Liverpool.

“I keep seeing this nonsense about Liverpool. Get out of here. Get out of it. He’s not worth anything because he is invaluable. And he’s going nowhere.

“There is a shout that they are going to offer him a new contract. Rip that contract up and offer him a five-year deal straight. Do it now.”

It’s understandable why a club like Liverpool, who have been flying high for many years now under Jurgen Klopp, would be interested in a player of Saka’s ilk.

But if Arsenal, and those in the boardroom, have anything about them, then they bat away any interest.

Perhaps signing Saka down to a new contract would be a great signal of intent from the club, like they did with Emile Smith Rowe in the summer.

At the end of the day, if Arsenal are to get back to their old heights of challenging for the Premier League title, then their Hale-End stars simply can’t leave.
