Some Leeds United fans on social media have been reacting after being linked with a move for Sam Johnstone.
The goalkeeper has been one of the rare bright sparks for West Brom this season, and with the stopper reportedly looking to remain in the Premier League next term, the Whites are looking at him.
Leeds don’t have the best depth in the goalkeeper position. Elia Caprile is a teenager who has played very little senior football, while Kiko Casilla is error-prone.
It’s unknown whether or not Johnstone would come in as first or second choice, but bringing someone in who can compete with Illan Meslier certainly isn’t a bad thing.
It remains to be seen whether or not United can get this deal over the line, but if they did, it would certainly be a popular move amongst the fanbase.
Indeed, Leeds fans online were all rather keen to see Johnstone signed, so it’s now up to Victor Orta to appease the fanbase.
