We’re now well into January and we haven’t heard much about Tottenham Hotspur potentially signing Milan Skriniar.
It goes without saying that Spurs were heavily linked with a move for the Inter Milan centre-back during the summer transfer window.
And in December, ESPN claimed that Tottenham were still very interested in bringing the big defender to North London this month.
Nevertheless, there hasn’t been much written about the 25-year-old joining Jose Mourinho’s side since then.
But the player is keeping his name in the news nonetheless.
Earlier today, Inter Milan played out a 2-2 draw away to Roma and the big Slovakian was on target, producing a thumping header on 56 minutes to peg back the capital club.
But he was also perhaps culpable for the hosts’ equaliser in the closing stages – and here’s how Tottenham fans reacted to his overall display:
It’s worth pointing out that Skriniar carries with him a £55 million price-tag [Calciomercato] and after their busy summer, it’s so difficult to see chairman Daniel Levy greenlighting a move of that magnitude this month.
A centre-back does seem a legitimate priority this month, following speculation about Sergio Ramos among others as well, but it seems unlikely that it’ll be Skriniar if Mourinho does bolster that position.
