Southampton fans on Twitter have started to get very excited by Dan N’Lundulu after he netted a hat-trick for the Saints’ B team against Manchester City.

The young striker is yet to make his any real impact for the first-team, appearing for just one minute this season, but after his impressive display for the reserves, some supporters were calling for him to get more of a chance.

He has been seen on the bench in recent weeks, so an opportunity may be just around the corner for the 21-year-old.

To be fair, with Danny Ings out injured for the next few weeks, it would make sense for Ralph Hasenhuttl to test out some new strikers, and with the Saints flying high right now, he can afford to take a risk or two.

Of course, the Saints will want to continue their good run and potentially push for Europe, but if they find themselves comfortably leading in the coming weeks, it may be worth giving N’Lundulu a chance to show what he can do.

N’Lundulu certainly looks like a top prospect, he’s now scored five goals in five PL2 games this season, and a hat-trick against Man City is not to be sniffed at as they’d only lost one PL2 game before Saturday.

The youngster has certainly improved his chances of getting a first-team opportunity, and it will be interesting to see whether or not Hasenhuttl decides to roll the dice on him in the coming weeks.
