Speaking on the Footballer’s Football Podcast, Callum Wilson has named Kevin De Bruyne as his dream signing for Newcastle United.

The Magpies are now the richest club in the world, so they can aim for some of the biggest names in world football.

Wilson was asked if there were no restrictions in place on who he could sign, who would he most like to see at Newcastle, and the striker was quick to name the Belgian as his dream signing.

What’s Wilson said about De Bruyne?

The striker named De Bruyne as his dream signing.

“For me, being a striker I would bring in the best players that would help me score the most goals. It’s simple. A player who is up there for assists, week in week out he’s currently playing in the Premier League, Kevin De Bruyne. I think him playing behind you would be a dream. You make a run and he’ll find you, some of the assists he’s given to their strikers are unbelievable. Yeah, we’ll bring in Big Kev, get him to the Toon,” Wilson said.

Maybe one day

As ridiculous as this sounds right now, perhaps we could see this one day.

Newcastle are the richest club on the planet, and the names they sign are only going to get bigger and bigger.

Who would have imagined that Manchester City would ever have been able to sign a player like Sergio Aguero before their takeover? Clubs that are this rich can climb the ladder quickly, and in a few years’ time, De Bruyne may well be on the Magpies’ radar.

Of course, De Bruyne isn’t going to swap City for Newcastle this month, but perhaps Wilson will get his wish in a few years’ time.
