Some Tottenham Hotspur fans have urged the club to make a move for Thiago Silva in the summer transfer window.
According to L’Equipe, Paris Saint-Germain have told Silva that they will not offer the central defender a new contract.
The 35-year-old central defender is out of contract at PSG at the end of the month, and the Brazil international is set to become a free agent.
Some Tottenham fans want the North London outfit to bring the former AC Milan star to Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on a free transfer.
Below are some of the best comments on Twitter:
Good signing for Tottenham Hotspur?
Silva may be 35 years of age, but the Brazil international remains a very good defender who can still make a huge difference for a top club for at least another season.
The defender is a serial winner, having clinched Serie A with Milan in 2011 and the Ligue 1 title as many as seven times with PSG.
The 35-year-old would bring a winning mentality to the Tottenham dressing room, and with Jan Vertonghen out of contract at Spurs at the end of the month, the North London outfit could do with a new centre-back for next season.
