Leeds United recorded their second Championship victory in five days as they defeated Cardiff City 2-0 in South Wales this afternoon.
Garry Monk – a former Swansea captain and manager – returned to South Wales this afternoon to try and build on Tuesday’s 2-1 victory over Blackburn Rovers.

Monk was therefore delighted to see his side pick up a 2-0 win, as he saw Chris Wood score from the penalty spot after Pontus Jansson was fouled, before Pablo Hernandez grabbed a second with a fine individual strike.
The goals and the win will be pleasing for Monk, and he’ll certainly be impressed with his defence standing firm and keeping a clean sheet at the Cardiff City Stadium.

A huge part in Leeds’ clean sheet was the performance of defender Jansson, who is on loan from Italian side Torino with a view to a permanent move should he play in 20 games for the club.
Jansson, a Swedish international, was colossal in the Leeds defence against Cardiff, racking up a remarkable 17 clearances to keep the Bluebirds at bay.
